Frederick County Maternity Session | Maryland Newborn Photographer

I’ve known Cristina for a long time and was so happy to hear about the news that she and her husband were expecting! Cristina is a fellow female entrepreneur who heads her own Nutrition and wellness-based company here in Frederick, MD, called Aterra Nutrition. Cristina and Chris’ maternity session happened on one of the warmest September days. An in-studio session was a must for this pregnant mama, but we were able to sneak in a few dreamy outdoor shots as the sun was setting.

Precious baby Nina made her entrance into this world a little early and came into the studio at 13 days old. Even though she was slightly on the “older” end of my sweet spot age for a newborn session, she snoozed through nearly her entire session!

I always like to include macro shots of your bundle of joy during their newborn session. The shots focus on the little details you ogle over in the first few weeks of their life, but are some of the first we forget! My favorite is the wrinkles in the bottom of their feet, but their adorable little nose, beautiful lips, and dainty lashes are not to be passed up.

Along with macro shots, I like incorporating props that mean something to your little family. Cristina and Chris adore their fur babies, so adding a little kitty to a sleepy Nina was a no-brainer! And, of course, we have to try for open-eye images!

From a hot summer day to a crisp fall morning, I felt so honored to be the one to capture this family’s sweet moments. The smiles on their faces say it all. Welcome to the world Nina!
