The Chanda Family planned to have their family session at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., which was unique and fitting for them. My assistant and I like to arrive slightly early to sessions on location to get an idea of the best places to photograph, keeping lighting in mind. We knew we wanted to include the iconic gold columns in this family's images and also take advantage of the rooftop terrace.

The gardens on the grounds of the Kennedy Center provided beautiful colors and, thankfully, a bit of shade on this warm evening.

Looking at individual images of these girls makes me realize how much they’ve grown. I have been photographing the Chanda family since the beginning of JNP. Nora and Charlotte were baby membership clients; and ever since, this family has chosen me as their annual family photographer, and I am so grateful for the trust they put in me and my work.
