We kicked off 2024 at JNP with an exceptional guest. Everyone, meet Zeus. You can’t tell me there is a better name for this little four-legged fur ball. Zeus weighed only 5 lbs, but he clearly captivated the room. He loves his mom and anything soft. He doesn’t know the commands sit, come, or stay, but he sure knows how to cuddle. I love all my human clients, but I have a special place in my heart for a pet session. Dogs have always been a massive part of my life, so allowing me to photograph your furry friend is the ultimate privilege. I couldn’t post this blog without adding this image below. I laugh every time I see it—the side eye, the attitude, the curled-up lip! Zeus, it was an honor to capture your good side!

When it comes to animals, I typically photograph dogs. However, when Kylie reached out asking if I would do a session with her cat, I said absolutely, 100% yes! I’m always up for a challenge. Knowing how unpredictable cats can be, I prepared myself for any way this session might go. To my surprise, Jackson knew more commands than our doggy friend, Zeus did! How many cats do you know that know the “sit” command?! Jackson was a star. He loves attention, he's curious, and a big fan of his treats. I especially love the rich chocolate tones in the backdrop we used for his session; it makes those green eyes pop!

Kylie and Jackson shared such a special bond. She is his person, and he is her soul mate. There was so much love in the studio that evening. I’m happy that Kylie will have these images for many, many years. This may have been my first official cat session, and I certainly hope it won’t be my last.
