We planned to meet this family at one of my favorite outdoor session spots. Given previous conversations with Mom, I knew the combination of images she had in mind for their session. It was a beautiful evening in a gorgeous location with new JNP clients. I wasn’t sure this night could get much better…and then it did. To my surprise, I saw the addition of two furry friends poking their heads up in the car as they pulled into the parking lot!

Oh, siblings! The looks on teenage siblings’ faces when I tell them to stand close together and act like they like each other are always comical. It usually takes one person acting silly to pull genuine, authentic smiles out of each other! For that very reason, I love the image in the middle below. The golden hour glow doesn’t hurt, either.

Ultimately, this session was for Mom. It had been far too long since this family had taken professional family portraits, and I was honored to remedy that for them. Teenagers are known to be tough, but I think quite the opposite! It is when we start to see who they will be as adults. These two made their momma’s heart happy, and that is what matters most.
