Lots of Laughs with the Johnson Family

I have the distinct pleasure of photographing some of the best families around Frederick, Maryland.  Not only are they up for stepping outside of the studio.  But also, they’re engaging and hilarious—both on and off camera.  I definitely shared some laughs with the Johnson family this past June, as we caught up on how much had changed over the past five years.

The Johnsons first came to me as a couple in 2014, when they were looking for a local photographer for their maternity shoot.  Soon after, I got to meet their beautiful baby girl, Alexis, during our newborn session.  Fast forward five years and the whole family has grown!  They were as stylish as I remembered—largely thanks to Mom’s efforts.  But Alexis had become so smart and mature already.  I couldn’t help but be impressed.

Fortunately, I was in for another surprise that day:  the fourth (and newest) member of the Johnson family.  Meet Mabel, their one-year-old French bulldog!  Fun, feisty, and full of energy, this adorable addition led us all around New Market.  She snorted her way through downtown, spreading kisses and laughter along the way.  I don’t think I’ll ever forget her dignified snorts or the way she enhanced the entire family’s interactions.

Although Mabel stole the show (for a little while), I made sure to share the spotlight with Mom, Dad, and Alexis.  We got so many great shots, it was hard to pick just a few to highlight here.  I know they struggled to choose their favorites, too, but together we were able to select a number of portraits to print and preserve.

While some people choose to have digital images, I always encourage my clients to walk away with something tangible that they will get to enjoy every day.  Whether that’s an album, a handmade wall hanging, or mounted prints.  Families—like the Johnsons—will have a new family heirloom after their experience with Jessica Neumann Photography.  If you’re interested in scheduling your own session, please contact us
