The Maternity Shoot Experience Everyone Deserves

As an expecting mother, you deserve nothing less than a luxurious maternity shoot experience to remember.  Whether you’re having an “easy” pregnancy—is there really such a thing?—or a difficult one, we’ve got to capture that glow!  Even if you’ve never participated in a professional photoshoot before, consider scheduling one to commemorate that beautiful baby bump.

When Nicole came to the JNP Studio last summer to plan her maternity session, I knew we had to do something different.  We had discussed a couple of outdoor locations, rather than staying inside the studio.  While I have plenty of different backdrops and props, sometimes it makes more sense to use the natural elements around us!  Particularly since we have so much gorgeous scenery to choose from here in Maryland.

Ultimately, we settled on an untouched field, not far from Frederick, MD.  Our timing was actually perfect, in that Nicole had plenty of time for pampering back at the JNP Studio.  She had her hair styled to withstand our infamous Maryland humidity.  Plus, she even selected this elegant gown from the JNP Closet!  (My closet has all sorts of outfits for babies, toddlers, children, and moms-to-be.)  By the time we made it onsite, we were able to utilize this soft, evening light that only enhanced her natural glow.  

Although it was hot and buggy out in that field, you’d never know from the photos.  Nicole was an absolute champion that day, bearing the conditions and my requests for different positions—all with a smile.  She even cuddled up with the father-to-be for a little baby bump love.  Overall, I couldn’t be happier to share in even this small part of her pregnancy.
